Spinal Decompression

Spinal Decompression

At Back to Health Wellness Center, our Bradenton chiropractor offers chiropractic care to those with lasting back pain. With spinal decompression therapy, they can provide some relief to patients without having to go under the knife. With the combination of other chiropractic services, we can help alleviate some of your pain and discomfort and hopefully improve your overall function too. Our chiropractic team evaluates each patient closely to determine the best course of action for their back pain.

How Spinal Decompression Helps Patients with Back Pain

Nonsurgical spinal decompression is a motorized traction device or table that helps to relieve back pain in chiropractic patients. It gently stretches the spine while changing both the force and position. This change can take pressure off discs. Our Bradenton chiropractor has even seen herniated or bulging discs retract. This takes pressure off the nerves and reduces pain almost instantly. During this procedure, a harness is placed around the pelvis and under the buttocks. A custom treatment is made on a computer. The treatment can last from 30 to 45 minutes and does require multiple visits for optimal results.

Our chiropractic team has used spinal decompression in order to treat those with sciatica, bulging or herniated discs, degenerative disc disease, posterior facet syndrome, and injured spinal nerve roots. We also provide physical therapy, chiropractic adjustments, and massage therapy in conjunction with spinal decompression in order to provide optimal relief to our patients. Those with tumors, advanced osteoporosis, metal implants in their spines or fractures are not good candidates for spinal decompression therapy.
